Ri.03 Increasing Vulnerability to Crime

This risk category assumes that any handling of personal data is likely to increase the probability of criminal offences. Examples: identity theft, identity fraud, financial damage, any form of data misuse, disadvantages for business or earning opportunities, Trojans, worms, phishing, rogueware. Every Schutzgut that is protected by criminal law and threatened by data misuse may be at risk. Due to the indeterminacy of the risk, a particularly strict standard must be applied to the probability of the risk.
